College Vision, Mission and Governance
College Vision, Mission and Governance
Overview
Emmanuel College offers the choice of a coeducational or all boys learning environment. Through following the characteristics of Marianist education, students are encouraged and supported to achieve their personal best.
- Educate for Formation in Faith
- Educate in Family Spirit
- Provide an Integral, Quality Education
- Educate for Adaptation and Change
- Educate for Service, Justice and Peace
Through quality educational experiences and the collaboration and commitment of staff, students have the opportunity to unlock their potential. This Catholic education focusses on the development of the whole person: academic, social, emotional, spiritual and physical.
Vision
Emmanuel College, sharing the mission of the Church and the principles of a Marianist education, with its devotion to Mary, the Mother of Jesus, delivers a Catholic secondary education, directed particularly to the young women and men from the parishes of the region, supporting all dimensions of their growth and learning; faith, intellectual, emotional, social, psychological and physical.
Mission
Emmanuel’s Marianist ethos is expressed in a safe and secure Catholic environment, based on compassion, respect, justice and responsibility which fosters the development of the learning and faith community.
Governance
Emmanuel College is a school which operates with the consent of the Catholic Archbishop of Melbourne and is operated and governed by Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Ltd (MACS).
MACS governs and operates Catholic schools in the Archdiocese to continue the mission of Catholic education to proclaim the Good News and equip our young people with the knowledge, skills and hope to live meaningful lives and enrich the world around them.
Because the good work of educating the young is a co-responsible task led by every member of the Catholic school community, School Advisory Councils have been established to provide a crucial point of connection between the wider school community and school leaders. This governance model was designed to ease the administrative burden on our schools and parishes, allow parish priests to focus on the mission of education in the parish, enable greater collaboration between schools and ensure greater consistency in school policies and procedures.
More information on MACS is available at www.macs.vic.edu.au.
